CPT is happy to continue this years-long tradition. Enjoy a delightful, free concert every Wednesday at the Seventeenth Church of Christ, Scientist at the corner of Wabash Avenue and Wacker Drive. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.; concert begins at 12:15 p.m. Refer to the full concert schedule here.

After the concert, please join us for lunch at historic Pittsfield Cafe at 55 E. Washington, just a few blocks south of the church. The concertgoers typically arrive at the cafe between 1:00 and 1:15 p.m., perfect timing for post-concert chatter and a satisfying meal.

Join us in Andersonville at Aura on the Lake, which is located just off of Kathy Osterman Beach. This bar & café offers an appealing assortment of appetizers, salads, hand-helds, desserts, and of course, libations; check out their menu. Enjoy Aura's outstanding food & drink while taking in the view of Lake Michigan and perhaps a few beachgoers.

Lunch at Waterfront Café [Edgewater] (Saturday, July 18, 2026)

Our July lunch will be held at Waterfront Café, which is located at 6219 N. Sheridan Rd. in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood. You can find the restaurant in the heart of Berger Park, diagonally adjacent to the Berger Park Cultural Center.

Menu items begin at $15. The restaurant offers a variety of summer salads, sausages and seafood rolls, along with beer, wine, and tropical beverages. Enjoy the cool summer breezes on the lakefront garden patio, surrounded by stunning lake and city skyline views.

The best way to reach Waterfront Café is the #151 bus or the #147 bus to the Granville stop on North Sheridan. The restaurant is a short walk from The Granville Red Line Station. There is street parking on the side streets off North Sheridan.

Waterfront Café has only outdoor seating is closed during inclement weather; if it is closed on July 18 due to inclement weather, we will meet at noon at Falafel & Kebab Station at 1133 W. Granville, which is a short walk from Waterfront Café and can be easily reached by taking the Red Line to the Granville station.

Kevin and Eduardo will host a meet-and-greet with cocktails and appetizers at their home in Margate Park. Limited adult beverages and appetizers will be supplied, but bring your own bottle and/or appetizer if you would like something in particular. $10 per person to help defray miscellaneous expenses.

As each month winds down, CPT members will gather for a festive evening of good food, great drinks, and even better company. Join us at Big Chicks, one of our favorite spots to relax and connect!

When you arrive, head to the cozy room on the left—that’s where the fun happens!

Drinks are available at the bar (cash only, so plan ahead!)
Food can be ordered at the back of our room, offering tasty bites to enjoy while you mingle.

The atmosphere is relaxed and social — folks move around, chat, and catch up throughout the evening. Service might be a bit leisurely, but no one minds when the company’s this good! Please note the bar is CASH ONLY, but there is an ATM to help you out!

We typically start gathering around 6:00 PM, and most of us wrap up by 8:00 PM.

On the first Tuesday of each month, Sidetrack Video Bar hosts OUTspoken, an LGBTQ+ storytelling event. OUTspoken consistently features entertaining and thought-provoking stories, all of which have some gay connection.

Some of us will meet at Lark for dinner at 5:15 p.m. before heading to Sidetrack at around 6:30–6:45 p.m. Please register separately for dinner at Lark if you plan to join us there.

Our monthly Open Social returns in August at Ann Sather’s Granville & Broadway location. Join us for an evening of good food, good conversation, and the chance to reconnect with friends old and new.

We’re grateful for the many years of wonderful gatherings at Ann Sather on Belmont, and now we’re looking forward to continuing the tradition at this new location. Whether you’ve been part of Chicago PrimeTimers for decades or are just getting to know the group, we’d love to have you with us.

Lunch at Firehouse Grill (Friday, August 14, 2026)

Firehouse Grill is an Evanston tradition housed in a decommissioned firehouse from the early 1900s. The expansive menu includes salads, wraps, bowls, burgers, sandwiches, Detroit-style pizza, fish and chips, tacos, steak, salmon, soups, chili, and vegetarian options.

Most individual meals are currently in the $16–$22 range, with some lighter options available for less and some entrées priced higher. Please expect to pay cash for your meal, tax, tip, and any beverages.

Important group payment note: Because we will be dining as a large group, the restaurant does not provide separate individual checks. Please be prepared to pay your share at the table, including tax and tip. Bringing cash in small bills will help make checkout easier for everyone.

Firehouse Grill is located at 750 Chicago Avenue in Evanston, about half a block south of the Main Street Purple Line stop. Street parking is available nearby.

Before our screening of Bookends, join fellow Chicago PrimeTimers for dinner at Kinnaree Thai Kitchen, 2415 N. Ashland Avenue, an easy walk from FACETS.

Kinnaree is a cozy neighborhood Thai restaurant with approachable prices and plenty of crowd-pleasing options, including fresh rolls, chicken satay, Tom Kha, Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, and Khao Soi. It is also BYOB with no corkage fee.

Dinner will begin on Monday, September 28, at 5:30 p.m., giving us plenty of time to enjoy the meal and then head to FACETS for the 7:00 p.m. screening. Of course, you are also very welcome to join us for dinner even if you are not attending the film.
